Happy Halloween!

I drop off some chocolate at Martina’s before going over to Stephanie’s.

Elisa and Sumana come by. Sumana tries on some costumes before we leave for Mama Silvia’s.

Sumana, Stephanie and I enjoy cheeseless pizza and an appetizer before we take a taxi up to Monte Suenos for the Halloween party.

It feels great being at a party where I know most everyone, though there are a few new faces.

I program all day.

It rains in the afternoon. After the rain, I notice how green everything is becoming. Even the gravel beside the house is full of grass shoots.

Heather and I enjoy lunch at the Juice Factory.

Bo takes Heather and I to take a look at an apartment.

I mail my Sarah a gift.

Stephanie and I take the 9:30 am bus into Loja.

Things go smoothly at the bank and so do all the other errands.

We’re back in Vilcabamba by 4 pm.

Salad and mashed potatoes for dinner at Sambucha’s before we watch the movie Bridesmaids

Stephanie and I enjoy the all dressed and no cheese pizza at Mama Silvia’s.

Stephanie and I watch the movie Terms Of Endearment.

I pay out the Jackpot when someone in Slovenia wins the YesICIT game.

Heather and I walk to Kitzia’s market and hang out for a while. I get to say hello to Ginna.

Heather and I eat lunch at Sambucha’s.

I make 3 batches of chocolate. Mint, Orange. Hazelnut.

Stephanie, Tom and I get a ride from Jenice and Bruce out to Greg and Jill’s place for a pot luck dinner. John and Ann are also there when we arrive. The house provides a fantastic view down the valley.

Stephanie’s yummy vegetarian lasagna is a success along with my chocolate and Jenice’s salad.

I complete some programming.

Pat stops by for a short visit.

I go into the village to pick up some supplies.

Stephanie and I meet up the place she has an appointment.

We enjoy brunch at Hotel Santa Lucia.

We take the van back to Vilcabamba at 2:30 pm in front of Hostal La Cigale. It’s at Honorato Vasquez 7-80 a half block from the Coffeetree. The ride back takes 4 1/2 hours.

Stephanie and I have dinner at the Chinese Restaurant.

Stephanie and I take a cab to the dentist’s. The cab driver doesn’t know where the street is. This has happened twice now. It appears they don’t carry maps in the car or call their dispatch to get directions.

I am happy to find out that my filling isn’t cracked. I get my teeth cleaned. $50 for cleaning and $30 for polishing. Pretty close to Canadian prices.

Stephanie and I hang out at her hotel while it rains most of the afternoon.

Stephanie and I walk to Tiestos for a delicious dinner. The restaurant is in a new location 2 blocks from where it use to be on the same street. We say hello to Walter and Susan who are eating dinner there as well.

I walk to Stephanie’s and we make our way over to Jardin Escondido to wait for the van to take us to Cuenca. There are two other people also waiting.

4 hours later we arrive in Cuenca. A super deal at $15 per person.

We drop off our baggage at my place and go for a light lunch at Nectar.

We pick up Stephanie’s bag and she checks into her hotel.

We do some shopping and then enjoy dinner at La Esqunia. The menu says the items shown are for 2 people. The pricing is very misleading so the bill turns out to be twice as expensive. I will not be dining there again even though the food is very good.

The price of bitcoin reaches $200 USD briefly.

Pat comes by for a short visit.

I pick up a pizza from Mama Silvia’s for Heather and I to share.

Martina comes by Heather’s place to pick up some chocolate avocado mousse.

Frank comes by Heather’s place and we enjoy hearing about what has been going on in Frank’s life.

Heather and I walk to Kitzia’s and enjoy the market.

Heather and I have sit with Pat, Renata, Anne and Lee for lunch at the Pizza Factory.

Heather and I look at an apartment for rent.

Stephanie and I enjoy dinner at Cafe Cultura.

I stop by Heather’s on my way to meet up with Norie.

There’s a mix up in time and I miss connecting with Norie.

Stephanie and I eat at Sambucha’s and then watch The Love Guru movie at her place.

I make two batches of chocolate. Walnut with butter caramel and walnut with caramel.

The rain ends as the sun comes up. Looks like the rainy season is upon me.

Ayde cleans my place while I work.

Heather prepares a yummy meal for us and we watch the documentary Shade.

It rains all night long. This keeps the roosters and dogs quiet. It drowns out the noise as the drops make music on the roof.

I make strawberry/mora chocolate avocado mousse.

I program the rest of the day.

Stephanie and I go out for raw pizza at the Pizza Factory for lunch.

I visit with Heather.

Stephanie and I watch the movie Inglorious Basterds.

Heather and I walk to Kitzia’s market and sit with Krystyna the author of a book on textiles from India.

Stephanie and I have dinner at Sambucha’s then watch the movie 500 Days of Summer.
