I take the bus into Loja,

I pick up my computer and I am back in Vilcabamba by noon.

I eat a Sambuca salad for lunch.

My computer still has the same problem.

I have a nap.

Marc comes by for a visit.

I walk to San Pedro under clear and hot sky.

I enjoy conversations with Sienna, Kirsten and Molly.

Vegetarian pizza at Shanta’s.

I walk the loop home.

I nap.

I buy a gluten free loaf at the newly transformed bakery Le baguette.

From there I attend the opening of Ecuravida.

Heather and I take a taxi up to Kathy & Edwards place. Spectacular view and the house is wonderful.

Heather and I enjoy sampling all the food we bought today.

I walk into the village with Trina and we say goodbye. She is leaving the country tomorrow.

Heather and I go to Elena & Vlad’s place for the paid raw food lunch. All the food is really flavourful and the coconut strawberry cream cake is excellent.

Heather and I take a taxi and check out another rental.

Heather & I eat supper and then watch the documentary called Sirius.

Heather and I have lunch.

Heather and I go look at a rental house with Yadira. Beautiful place but too expensive and far from town.

I receive a package with the one cup heaters and cheese cloth.

I arrive at Trina’s for her going away pot luck at 6 pm. Ginna is there and a short while later Felix and Marie arrive.

We finish the evening at Mama Silvia’s where Brook’s has been waiting.

I make a batch vanilla and rose cream.

I visit with Heather and then take a taxi out to Richard and Norie’s place. I share a few hours of stimulating conversation with them.

I eat, read and watch a movie with Heather.

Being without my computer, I decided to go hike up a new road. It’s all uphill. An hour later, I am overlooking Vilcabamba and nearly as high as Mandango.

Someone is building a new house at what use to be a look out point. A breath taking 360 degree view.

I decide take a chance and head down a path used by cattle. Lots of butterflies of different sizes and colors. I wind up at a folk in what has now become a road. I pass right by the gate that leads to Marie and Marc’s place.

I rest and shower before going to Heather’s place.

We make a batch of pesto.

Heather cooks us a delicious pasta dinner with salad.

We watch a movie.

The almost full moon makes for nice walk home.

I take the bus to Loja.

I bring my computer to the Mac House and my computer does the all blue screen thing before the technician. Hardware problem it is. I leave it with him. So it’s an iPhone only week.

I am back by noon and chow down on guacamole and sour dough bread. Delicious but it puts me into sleep mode.

I take a nap.

I read some of the book Heather lent me and surf the net.

Tumblr on the iPhone prevents me from putting pictures into the post.

Trina and I go to the market together.

My computer starts acting up again.

I complete some programming.

I play my Hapi drum.

Trina and I walk into the village. The donkey she adopted is being transported to her friends place.

I attend Marie’s birthday party. It’s an all dessert event with lot’s of delicious treats. I get a chance to meet some new people.

I take a taxi out to Galina and Clif’s place. Great conversation and visit. Hosea comes by later and shows us how he makes a “bread” from rice, quinoa, chia seeds, coconut oil, salt and rice flour.

Hosea gives us a ride into town.

Galina, Clif and I eat at Shanta’s.

I make a batch of Peppermint chocolate and a batch of cinnamon, clove and hot pepper chocolate.

I prepare my tax return.

I program.

I visit with Heather and we go to the post office together. Since the post arrives only once a week it feels a bit like Christmas. My candle making supplies arrive.

Trina and I dine at Mama Silvia’s. I get the Mushroom Brushetta and the pasta with Portobella Mushroom sauce. This is the dish I was attempting to remember.

I make my first bee’s wax candle. I’ve yet to see any bee’s wax candles in any shops.

I wake up during the night with thoughts inspired by a YouTube video last night on the meltdown of the NY stock market where trades are done in milliseconds (that’s 1,000 trades per second).

To humans, stocks, bonds, real estate and commodities represent human values. To a computer they represent mathematical values. So when it comes to computer trading, all the software is designed to do it make a profit independent of any associated human value. The program trades independent of any physical, emotional, mental and spiritual needs. It deals with symbols, quantities, price and time. That’s it.

Programming until 2 pm.

Nap time.

Dinner at Heather’s and a movie.

I am up at 7:30 am.

I meet up with Galina and Clif in the square.

I enjoy lunch with Trina at the Chinese restaurant.

I visit with Heather for a while.

I Skype with friend Geoff in Canada.

Marc and Marie come by and we walk up to their property. Great view of the valley.

I get some programming done.

I make a batch of almond chocolate.

Day two of sleeping in.

Heather comes by at around noon. We walk almost as far as Monte Suenos. We lie on the deck looking at Mondango. I play my Hapi drum.

Heather and I make some delicious pesto for our spagetti dinner at her place. We start watching a couple of movies but stop early in because they don’t hold our attention.

I am home by 8:30 pm.

I sleep in.

Jerri cuts Ginna’s hair at my place.
