I dream I am looking at a building that I have a picture of in my hand. I am with my daughter Sarah. I am comparing the photo with what I see close by. As I look at it in more detail, I see what appears to be minor differences. Then the building starts to collapse until only a pile of ruins remains.

I take a taxi out to Cucanama for lunch and a visit with Galina and Clif.

Lunch is delicious and followed by a heaping plate of homemade yummy cookies served with tea.

I enjoy our conversation around several topics including chocolate and bitcoins.

A bright sunny day.

Since everything already exists then there is a life dictated by fate. If I choose moment to moment through this pre-existence there is also free will. When I surrender to the divine then I exist with what IS.

Trina makes me lunch at her place.

I attend the performance of the Prophet by Felix and Ginna in the chapel of El Attillo. Trina arrives shortly before the performance begins.

Trina makes us spagetti for dinner.

I am awake by 7 am.

I eat a fruit bowl at the Juice Factory and I ge to know Jim the chiropractor.

Heather & I hire Guillermo as our taxi driver to take us to Loja. He drives carefully. We arrive in Loja to discover the Apple Store is closed.

I buy a 10 pound bag of almonds at Diego’s.

We located the address where Heather’s settee she ordered in Cuenca was suppose to be ready for pick up. The place is closed even though Heather was assured they will be open when we get there.

We return to Vilcabamba and have lunch at Madre Tierra.

Heather and I both have packages waiting for us at the post office.

Heather makes a delicious dinner and bakes a pie.

We watch a movie.

I am home before 9 pm.

I drop off the coffee and chocolate I vacuum sealed for Renata. I enjoy a short visit with Renata.

Marc comes by at 11 am and we discuss the VilcaCambio.com website as well as what’s new in the Bitcoin world.

I take a nap.

I do some programming.

I prepare and upload the Eastern and Western Band performance videos that I took before leaving for Cuenca.

My computer problem comes full circle where the screen goes black but is still working. Fortunately when I restart the computer it works properly.

I get some work done for the first time in a while.

I enjoy lunch with Renate and her friend Dan at the new restaurant formerly called La Roca.

I meet up with Trina at her place. We go to my house and she makes us spagetti.

I make a batch of almond chocolate.

I walk Trina home.

I am at Heather’s place by 10 am.

I download Snow Lion and run it in upgrade mode. It install but my computer still locks up when I start it normally. I install the latest major update for the new operating system and still it locks up. Finally I install the latest minor update. The computer starts normally.

I pick up my 4o pounds of chocolate.

Heather and I spend the day reading, eating and watching China Syndrome in between attending to my computer.

Home at 9:45 pm

Great to wake up without an alarm clock.

A summer like day. Some work and a couple of naps.

Heather and I go to David Smith’s music event at his house. Matt and Stacy perform first followed by George. The “band” plays some toe tapping songs.

Heather and I share a taxi back to Heather’s with another couple.

I am home by 11 pm.

Up at 7 am. No more waking to alarm clock.

I am packed and ready for the day by 8 am.

Heather and I go for a walk before checking out of the Hostal. $50 for 5 nights stay.

We catch the 11 am Elite Tours van. Which, after stopping for gas, is 30 minutes behind schedule. At a police checkpoint we are held up for another 15 minutes as the drivers paperwork is checked. Just as we pass the half way point back to Loja, a police pick up truck pulls the van over. The van has to go back a couple of kilometres to the town of Ona. The same police  who manned the checkpoint show up in another pick up truck. They take the driver away. They return with the driver 20 minutes later. One of the police checks Heather and my ID. We’re on the road again and more than hour behind. Heather is getting a headache and queasy.

In Loja, we transfer to a cab with more high speed curvy driving. We arrive  at Heathers place. She’s feeling really nauseous. I go home after making sure Heather is ok.

I unpack and do my laundry. It feels good to be home.

I am up at 6:30 am.

Leon picks me up at 8:30 am and he drives me to Cajas Park about 40 minutes outside Cuenca and at about 4000 meters above sea level. There is a lake perched up here where wild deer and Llamas roam. We walk around the lake. We stop whenever climbing to catch our breath because I become more easily winded at this altitude. The water is clean enough to drink. It takes us about an hour to go around.

Leon and I eat lunch at the Coopera restaurant which is apparently all organic. The Yucca fries are really yummy.

I sit with Heather at Govindas while she enjoys lunch.

The computer decides to quit and prevents us from watching a movie so we spend the rest of the day reading and talking.

My computer is working normally again.

All my paperwork for the Cedula is approved but I have to wait until after Easter to submit it. One step at a time.

Heather and I eat lunch at Nectar.

I go to the dentist. I get my teeth cleaned and 3 cavities repaired.

Heather, Ginna, Pat and I dine at Govinda’s.

Day 3 in Cuenca.

Heading into fall with the equinox today.

I awake during the still of the night. I dream of being in a room full of people. I know everyone is going to die and so does everyone in the room but no one is saying anything. I step outside for a moment and when I re-enter I announce that everyone is going to die. I see a baby girl and pick her up. As soon as do so, we are high on a Rocky Mountain type mountain standing at the top of a very steep road that is covered in snow and ice with some bare patches. The road curves out of sight. As I am thinking the best approach to take the baby down the father of the baby shows up in a pickup truck. We communicate without speaking and it is determined it is best he takes his baby down because with the truck he able to get down the hill more gradually. The baby tells me the reason she wished to be picked up was because she wished to talk.

Heather and I have breakfast at a Brazilian Cafe. We take a taxi to a mall where there is a high end department store. Nice stuff but very expensive. I buy a towel and bath mat.

Heather and I meet up with Tamera and Pat at Nectar. Yummy vegetarian food.

Heather, Pat and I go to the largest mall where there is a store like Walmart that is two stories tall. The energy drains out of me.

I go see a plastic surgeon to see about having a couple of moles removed.

On our walk back we sit with Ginna while she dines at the Taj Mahal restaurant.

Heather and I go to the new Tai Restaurant across the street. Being full from lunch, Heather and I share a salad. Pat comes in a short while later.

I awake several times during the night. Church bells ringing a few times.

Leon the taxi driver picks us up at 8:30 am. Heather goes to the dentist while I go to the Ministry of Exterior. All goes well picking up the document. Leon and I go the civil office to have the clerk review my paperwork. The affidavit is missing information.

Leon takes me to a notary who refers us to a lawyer. The lawyer prepares the new document while I meet up with Heather at a restaurant called Bananas. Heather, the lawyer and I walk to the notaries office. I am told to come back at 3:30 pm to pick up the new affidavit.

Heather and I explore some shops then she rests while I pick up the affidavit.

Heather, Pat, Ginna and I dine at Tiestos. We are the only ones there at first. The chef introduces himself to each one of us personally. The sauces for the bread are delicious.  He then takes into consideration our food preferences and we are served very flavour full dishes. The place is packed within an hour and there are people waiting. We are never rushed.

Pat and Ginna come by our Hostal to check out the rooms.

I am awake at 6 am.

I call a taxi and pick Heather up at 9:30 am. Off we go to Loja. A easy ride gets us to the Elite Tours location by 10:15 am. All passengers going to Cuenca arrive early and we start our trek 15 minutes early at 10:45 am.

There is rest stop along the way and we arrive in Cuenca at about 2 pm. A short taxi ride later we arrive at Hosteria Santa Fey. 

We walk around the corner to the Hari Krishna restaurant to dine on salad, pizza and veggie burger with fries. Too full, we get the “cheesecake” to go.

We walk along the river to get to the nearby shopping malls.

We are back at the hotel feeling good but tired. We read to each other.

I am experiencing a slight altitude headache.

I am up by 7:30 am. My computer is operating normally.

I eat a fruit bowl at the Juice Factory on my way to Madre Tierra.

I arrive at Madre Tierra as Pondo’s Eastern Western band is setting up. I am here to record the 2 hour tribute to Brian O’Leary. Meredith, Brian’s wife, arrives with Andrea and Pete as the band is about to get started. There are 3 sets with an opening and closing mantra chant. I feel joy during some of the performance and happy the rest of the time.

I eat lunch at Madre Tierra then walk home.

I complete some work before my computer begins to lock up.

I pack some stuff for tomorrows trip to Cuenca.

I assist Renata with her computer and enjoy some tea with her.

I visit with Pat.

Ayda cleans my place.

My computer won’t start normally. Only in safe mode. So I read Mirdad and download Mac OS Mountain Lion to see if this solves the problem.

Heather makes a egg plant casserole dinner and we watch “The Invention of Lying” movie.

Heather & I enjoy a delicious, well presented raw food lunch at Elena & Vlad’s place. Generous portions.

Popcorn and a “Ordinary People” movie at Heather’s afterwards.

Marc comes by and we review the new swap website.

Heather comes over with two of the new chocolate ice cream made with bananas.

I make 3 trays of almond bits chocolate.

I mail cream and chocolate to my Sarah.

I mail chocolate to Kaya who’s birthday is coming up soon.

I drop off chocolate for Bernie.

Heather makes us a tasty dinner and then we watch a couple of movies.

I work until 4 pm.

My computer locks up and it takes an hour of restarts to get it going again.

Pat and I eat at Sambuca’s.

We drop by the meditation center to say hello to Bernie.

Problems with bitcoin cause the price to drop quickly. Looks like program trading is kicking in. Dropping from a high of $48.47 to $38 in 3 hours then started recovering quickly.
