A Blue Moon Day!

Straight out of bed to work. On Skype with a client for 1 1/2 hours. From there I am on Skype with Celeste getting some important documents scanned which turns out to take quite a while. I spend a little more time polishing up my Bitcoin site.

By 1 pm I am showered and off to the Juice Factory where Pat, Olivia and I walk over to Water Woman. I am hungry. Nothing resonates with my palate from the vendors so Pat and I eat pizza at Shanta’s.

Olivia and I at The Juice Factory

Jerri joins Pat and I where we take in two performances at the main stage. The first involved a Belly Dancer. The second was an electronic Kirtan kind of experience. Their music really makes my body move.

I walk to the gate with Jerri and make my way home.

I get involved in more Bitcoin stuff and the evening slips away.

There is a post on Facebook of this 4 year old asian boy who plays the piano amazingly. Crystal childen. No further proof required.

Around 10 pm the music starts. Right across the street. A birthday party. I step outside to see the fireworks exploding.

Jonathan and I get into another conversation that ends when the music ends at 1 am.

I can hear the music from the Water Woman festival quite clearly as more time dissipates.

Feeling pretty similar to the day before.

I get another idea for my Bitcoin site that feels like I’m here to participate in it’s evolution and distribution. Testing, doing Bitcoin transactions and cleaning up the code takes me to lunch time.

Two bowls of soup at the Juice Factory then Pat, Olivia and I walk to the Water Woman Festival (WaterWomanEcuador.com). Pat and I get our wrist bands at the gate. I can see how much effort has gone into it and here it is.

My Water Woman Wrist Band

I wander around taking pictures and spend some time talking with Jerri.

See all the picture here. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.4518443041735.188554.1310526048&type=1&l=17433c6079

I leave to go to the bank, drop off some things at my place and get back to Water Woman.

I spend some time with Chaska discussing the email I posted on yesterdays entry.

The opening ceremonies start with a walk around the Mandala de Tierra as we stream to in front of the main stage. Indigenous people from South America and North America share their wisdom, insight and blessings. The Eagle and Condor have come together in Vilcabamba.

I feel a lot of emotion with tears welling up in my eyes. The Cree native from Canada who has set on all continents except this one until now. He says in the next 13 month, the river of life is narrowing and we will see it rise and speed up. It feel like I am at the place where the butterfly flaps its wings (the ceremony here) and builds up enough energy to become a storm somewhere else. It feels like we were changing the world in a  big way just by coming together here at this time.

Mandala de Tierra

The Condor & The Eagle

A ceramic bowl of water is carried over to the Mandala as we walk in procession. It’s dark by the time the ceremony finishes with the almost full moon emerging from behind the clouds. I head home.

I boil some ginger in water. Jonathan, who is staying at the meditation center, arrives. I introduce myself and we wind up sharing ideas for over an hour.

I get through the night without blowing my nose. Feel pretty much the same as last night.

I continue to wear a scarf and my hoody.

Lots of inspiration with respect to the BitCoin website which I am constructing.

I make my way up to Madre Tierra for a burger and fries.

Some remote work sprinkled throughout the day while I focus on the BitCoin site.

Assange and the Attack on the Republic of Ecuador

By Nicola di Cora Modigliani – August 18, 2012
http://sergiodicorimodiglianji.blogspot.it
Important Note: Re-edited in English from Google translation by Sandhya Jain.
Today we talk of geo-politics and the freedom of information. But what is happening today technically (i.e. politically) began on 12 December 2008, though some say September of that year, but it took four years for the shock waves to reach Europe and America.
The issue relates to Julian Assange, Wikileaks, and the Republic of Ecuador. Mind you, it was assumed in the entire American continent, Australia, and Europe that the world was the same as ten years ago. But the world does not work that way anymore.
In Italy, no one was told of the fight growing between Brazil and the United Nations, badly managed by Christine Lagarde who heads the International Monetary Fund, whereby Italy was officially relegated from the eighth largest to the ninth largest economy in the world. It was overtaken by Brazil. So at the next G8, Italy will not be invited, but Brazil will. So we had the decision to abolish the G8 and G10 becoming the new standard.
Europe, with England and Germany at the helm, simply cannot accept the “Keynesian” triumph of South America. In essence the western guideline remains: “Let them stay home and remain grateful that we let them survive like the Africans. Otherwise one by one they will all end like Gadaffi.”
This is the warning in a nutshell So, quietly, South America has in the last 40 days sent three powerful messages; the last and most important was on August 3, and it was televised live from the New York office of the International Monetary Fund. Now for some facts.
On 15 June 2012, Julian Assange understands that for him it’s over. He knows that he will be arrested in Stockholm, picked up at the airport, not by police forces of His Majesty the King of Sweden, but by two officers of the CIA and a US diplomat, using specific formal agreements between the two nations to claim that Assange “actively intervened” in the NATO conflict in Iraq while the war was in progress. He will then be taken directly to the US, to the state of Texas, and subjected to criminal prosecution for terrorist activities. There will be a demand for the death penalty based on the provisions of the Patriot Act.
So Assange consults with his group, and at 9 a.m. on 19 June, enters the Embassy of Ecuador. His team opens negotiations with British agents in London, with the Swedes in Stockholm, and American diplomats in Rio de Janeiro. They agree to let the Olympics pass, after which he can quietly go to South America, ‘just do not talk about it.’ But somehow they don’t trust the Anglo-Americans and rightly so. So they carry out two masterstrokes on 3 August and 4 August.
On 3 August 2012, 16 months ahead of schedule, Argentina President, Cristina Kirchner, arrives at the headquarters of the IMF in Manhattan, accompanied by finance minister and foreign minister of Ecuador, Patino, representing ‘Alba’ (Labour Alianza Bolivariana America), the economic union between Latin America and the Caribbean.
On that occasion, Kirchner hands a cheque of €12 billion to the IMF (whose loan was due on 31 December 2013). She announces that with this instalment, Argentina has shown itself to be solvent, to be a responsible nation, trusted and reliable for anyone who wants to invest money. Argentina in 2003 went in default of $112 billion, but refused to seek cancellation of the debt; it declared bankruptcy and sought 10 years to return the money, including interest.
For 10 years, Argentina fought IMF’s attempts to impose restrictive measures of economic austerity. It opted for a different path, in line with Keynesianism, and based on financing infrastructure, research, innovation, instead of cutting expenditure. And it recovered. And it paid off the last instalment of the IMF loan 16 months in advance. It thus proved once more that the ideas of the IMF and World Bank on economic ideas are noxious and wrong headed. TINA (“There is no alternative”) is a lie forced upon the majority of the world’s population by the oligarchic elites.
Fifteen minutes after making the payment, Kirchner lodges a formal complaint against the US and UK to the World Trade Organization, on the basis of files made available by Wikileaks, that is, Assange.
Argentina, having settled the debts, now wants damages; with compound interest. It’s a fight between Kirchner and Lagarde. Thanks to Assange, as his team has the transcripts of several conversations in different governments of the globe, involving the US, Britain, France, Italy, Germany, the Vatican, where money is the master: Osama Bin Laden has been sent to the attic and replaced as the arch villain by John Maynard Keynes in the minds of the financial hegemons.
Assange has become public enemy number one of the great powers since he has gained the classified records of these long conversations about how to cripple the economies of South America, how to take away their energy resources and prevent their recovery; how to prevent their governments from pushing through Keynesian economic plans instead of applying the dictates of the IMF, whose sole purpose is to pursue a neo-colonialist policy principally for the benefit of Spain, Italy and Germany, with British capital.
Most files have already been published on the internet. Those and others were handed over by Assange in Britain to the Ecuadorian ambassador there.
On August 3 in New York, Ecuador became the first nation in the Americas and only nation in the Western world since 1948, to apply the concept of “immoral debt” or the political and technical refusal to pay foreign debts because they were made by previous governments through corruption, in violation of constitutional laws and requirements.
On 12 December 2008, Rafael Correa the new president of Ecuador (whose GDP is around 50 billion euros, or 30 times less than Italy’s) announced on television that he had decided to cancel the national debt considering it illegal, because it violated the constitution to oppress the people. Today in Ecuador, the new constitutional principle is that what is right for the community is legitimate.
Amount of debt: € 11 billion. The IMF literally expunged Ecuador from the list of civilized nations. “The country is isolated,” declared Dominique Strauss-Kahn, then IMF Director General.
The very next day, Hugo Chavez announced that Venezuela would contribute free oil and gas to Ecuador for ten years. Four hours later, President Lula announced that Brazil would give 100 tons/day of wheat, rice, soy and fruit free to feed the population, for a long as the nation takes to recover. In the evening, Argentina announced it would give 3% of its beef production free to Ecuador to ensure adequate protein for the population. The next morning, in Bolivia, Evo Morales announced the legalization of cocaine for domestic production and collection, and free coca leaves to Ecuador with a loan of 5 billion interest-free, repayable in ten years in 120 instalments.
Two days later, Ecuador denounced the United Fruit Company and Del Monte & Associates for “slavery and crimes against humanity”, nationalized the agricultural industry in bananas (Ecuador is the world’s biggest banana exporter) and launched a national organic label.
Ten days later, Bavarian Green of Schleswig Holstein, Conad in Italy, and Denmark, and Haagen Daaz were prepared to sign contracts with the new entity on the basis of “fair trade”. On 20 December 2008, taking note of the protest of the United Fruit Company, President George Bush (still in office until 17 Jan 2009), denounced the ‘criminal decision’ of Ecuador and called for its expulsion from the United Nations.
Bush said that the US was even ready for a ‘military option to safeguard US interests.’ The next morning, the powerful New York law firm of Goldberg & Goldberg submitted that there was a legal precedent for Ecuador’s action. Six hours later, the US gave up and called on the international community to challenge the legitimacy of the concept of “immoral debt”.
The United Fruit Company has a record in systematic political corruption; it was ordered to pay damages of $ 6 billion.
Interestingly, the legal precedent was dated 4 Jan 2003, and signed by George Bush. Yep. This happened in Iraq, which at that time was’technically’ an American possession since it was occupied by US forces and the interim government was not yet recognized by the UN. Saddam Hussein had left debts of 250 billion euros (40 billion euros against Italy, thanks to the transactions concluded Tareq Aziz, deputy to Hussein and an ally of Vatican’s Opus Dei), which the US erased by applying the concept of “immoral debt”, thus creating the recent historical precedent.
New York lawyers for the government of Ecuador offered Washington a choice: either accept and be silent, or if you challenge the decision of Ecuador then also cancel yours for Iraq and get the US Treasury to immediately pay the €250 billion, including compound interest for four years. Obama, not yet in office but already elected, asks Bush to throw in the towel. The New York lawyers are paid by the Brazilian government.
Rafael Correa, Ecuador’s president-elect, is not a farmer like Morales, or trade unionist like Lula, or a military officer like Chavez, he comes from an upper class family and is an intellectual. He is a graduate in economics and economic planning from Harvard, and self-described as a “Christian socialist”. His first official act was to freeze all bank accounts of the Church’s IOR in Quito’s banks and divert the amount into a social welfare program for the economically disadvantaged.
He put on trial the entire political class of the previous government, most of whom were sent to jail, with average sentences of 10 years, confiscated their property and nationalized it and and redistributed it in ecological agricultural cooperatives. Correa sent a letter to Pope Ratzinger in which he called himself “always the humble servant of Your Enlightened Holiness” and in which he officially bade the Vatican send to Ecuador only “clerics gifted with deep spirituality and eager to serve the needy, avoiding profiteers who would incur the rigor of human laws”.
Today, the new South America says no to colonialism and slavery of the European and US multinationals. For 400 years, ever since Europeans discovered bananas rich in potassium, Ecuadorians have lived in poverty, exploitation, destitution, while for hundreds of years a group of brutal oligarchs got rich at their expense. It is no longer the case. And it never will be again. The example of Ecuador is alive and can be replicated in any African or Asian, or European, nation in the world.
But the decisive blow to the system was a bombshell made public on 4 Aug 2012, when Julian Assange assigned the Spanish judge Garzón, the public enemy number one of organised crime, the most ferocious enemy of Silvio Berlusconi, and absolutely the most dangerous enemy of the global banking system, to defend him.
The Spanish judge has 35 years experience and has been responsible for the prosecution of the most important cases of his country for the past 25 years. He is an expert in ‘media and finance,’ and rose to international prominence in 1993 after Interpol issued a warrant on his behalf against Silvio Berlusconi and Fedele Confalonieri (Berlusconi’s right hand man) regarding transactions involving Telecinco, Pentafilm, Fininvest, Reteitalia and La Cinq.
From this it came out that the Pentafilm (Berlusconi and Cecchi Gori members, namely PD and PDL together) bought at $100 the rights of a film that it sold to Columbia Pictures for $500 to Telecinco that sold them at $1000 to an Italian network which then ultimately sold for $2000 to Rai, and so on a total of 142 times. The same film.
That is, the Rai (or us) paid the rights to a film 20 times the value of the market and bought it three times, so that all parties were taken care of. When it came to the crux of the matter, Berlusconi was prime minister, and so Garzón was stopped by the European Union. He got a half victory. Heclosed the Telecinco and sent its Spanish executives to jail.In 2003 the battle re-opened, with Berlusconi’s new front Mediaset. Garzón was always there.
In 2006, the Italian government at the time (Prodi & co.) helped Berlusconi to escape conviction. In 2004, Garzon opened a dossier against Pope Wojtyla and against the management of the IOR in Spain and Argentina, in relation to funding and support from the Vatican to the military juntas of Pinochet and Videla in South America.
In 2010 Garzón resigned under pressure from the Spanish Government, but before he retired, he opened a law firm dedicated exclusively to international ‘media & finance’ in The Hague, The Netherlands. And now as official legal eagle to Assange, judge Garzón has access to 145,000 files still in possession of Julian Assange that have not been made public. He has already made it known that his office is prepared to denounce several Western heads of state to the court of civil rights in The Hague. The charge will be ‘crimes against humanity, crimes against the dignity of the person.’
The battle is therefore open. It is going to be decisive for the future of freedom in the network [internet]. In the US, they make no secret of the fact that they want him dead. So do the British. But they are having trouble because Assange has taken steps to bring about a global group that deals with counter-information (real, not the Italian one). Its members are anonymous. They do not have an identified site. They simply enter the data, news, information and events. Besides, who wants to know where to look and who wants to understand? When the temperature rises, everything comes to the surface.
The British Empire has lost its composure and wants to seize Assange who has access to direct source material. And the mere fact of releasing it in public turns the tables on those who rule, and reminds the people that we are caught in an invisible war. The rulers do not know how to stop the dissemination of information about what is happening in the world.
There are people who risk their lives by the mere act of uploading information from some anonymous Internet location in Canberra, Bogota or Saint Tropez. Wikileaks should not be read as gossip. It is not. Its anonymous team deserves our respect.
We can no longer say tomorrow, “but we did not know”. Whoever wants to know today, is well served. Just try.
Translated, this means: until we send home the foul political class that poorly represents us, the chatter will have no effect. Because now we all know how things are. Otherwise, you cannot complain or be surprised that in Italy no one has ever spoken before of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, or of what happens in South America, the furious battle taking place between the Argentine President and Brazil on one hand and Christine Lagarde and Merkel other. Why wonder then, that the British want to invade a foreign embassy? This never happened even in the hottest days of the so-called Cold War. As they say in South America when someone asks “What do they do in Europe, what’s happening there?”, you answer “In Europe they sleep. They do not know that there is life out there.”

I wake several times during the night. My mouth is parched and the sniffles escalate.

I sleep in a little then start thinking about Bitcoins again. I spend more time exploring them.

Yadira gets a hold of the woman at the Bank of Ecuador. Yadira emails a copy of the CD to her so that the paperwork will be ready for me to pick up.

As the day progresses so does my runny nose. A little bit of pressure in my head too. Raining on and off for part of the day and it’s chilly. I wear my hoody and scarf inside and outside. I boi ginger and hot water to make a tea with tree honey.

I nap then Pat and I go to Hosteria Vilcabamba for filet mignon.

I spend the rest of the evening on the computer until the power goes out.

I meet up with Nadia to discuss my chocolate making recipes. She buys some cacao liquor at the new Liquor store. By the bottle it looks like it’s made right here in Vilcabamba. We were looking for cognac because I made a chocolate I called Kundalini Rising back in Canada. It was inspired by discovering that vanilla, cacao and cognac all have the property of dialating the blood vessels and bringing more oxygen to the brain. This also delivers what’s in the mixture along with it.

Vanilla Beans

I am starting to feel sniffly. Feeling dehydrated.

I focus on developing routines to work with Bitcoin. I am making break-throughs.

The phone rings at 8:30 am. It’s Norie letting me know that they are picking me up by taxi in a few minutes. I scramble to put my clothes on then let Anita know that I am skipping breakfast as I grab the tray of chocolate from the fridge.

Norie, Richard and Galina are waiting in the taxi. Off we go to Hacienda San Joaquin where Galina and Clif are staying.

The house is spacious and modern. Galina prepares some food and we all share ideas and creativity.

Norie, Richard and I say our farewells and take a taxi to Shanta’s. It’s Norie and Richards first time.

I eat a vegetarian pizza. While we’re waiting for our food Norie chats with Shanta and she takes some pictures. Shanta shows her his parrot who I think is named Futura. I share some chocolate with everyone.

Shanta’s Parrot

On our way into town we stop by the Water Woman site. Caela and Lula are attaching signs to the posts lining the driveway. We walk some of the grounds and head into town where Norie and Richard head off to catch their bus.

I spend the rest of the afternoon preparing my site to sell BitCoins.

I get up after going to bed at 2 am. I finally get a handle on how to format a book and publish it on Kindle. Before getting out of book I am inspired to use story telling as a vehicle to introduce and educate people about Bitcoin.

I download and install Photoshop and design a cover.

Book Cover

I write the first page of the story.

“No fucking way” my mind screamed when I saw the poster.

“And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a MARK in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the MARK, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name“ popped in next.

“Where did you get this?” I ask Jessie.

“At the stadium. There’s a line up as far I could see. They’re offering free food for life. Borderless travel. Even guaranteed housing.. You just have to sign the form and get the injection.”

“In the forehead, right?”

I sensed the heat of anger flush my face.

“Some kind of nano tech stuff. Stores petabytes of data. Your whole goddam life apparently.”

“And they’re lining up for this?”

I am disgusted.

“Come on Ryan. The 99% is poor. Food and shelter is primary and they’re offering it for free. For life. What do you expect?”

I scan the barcode with my phone. Up comes www.freedomchip.com. Jessie is spot on. Freebies galore. Limited time.

Paranoia washes over me.

I call Lara.

“Not on the phone. Come to my place.”

Click. Off we go.

I pick up my registered envelope that Celeste sent me.

Fran cuts my hair. I am very pleased with the way it turns out.

I am awakened from my nap by Chaska who has lost her phone. I accompany her up to Monte Suenos. Her phone was in her room all this time. OR it did a dimensional shift? I share with her how I left things behind and then got them back. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this?

Chaska and I dine with Clif and Galina. Great conversation and food. Galina goes looking through her purse looking for pad and paper. Not there. Then suddenly there again. Hmmm?

Will walks with me from the Square.

The sound of church bells chiming wakes me up. Though it’s 6:40 am and they ring for 20 minutes, it’s a sound I enjoy.

Leon picks me up at 8:30 am after I check out of the Hostel. We get to the dentist’s office with time to spare.

Dentist Business Card

The doctor and his assistant start examining me by 9 am.

After a bit of deduction, the dentist discovers the problem. He does some laser treatment on 3 places on my face. He takes an xray. The filling must be replaced. He uses muscle testing to determine what materials to use for the filling. There are other times throughout my visit where muscle testing is done. After some drilling and filling my tooth is repaired. There is no use of that black paper they use to see how the bite is. He gets it just right.

Next he cleans and polishes my teeth. He shows me how my brushing along my teeth is wearing them away. Suggests I brush up and down. He also finds 2 cavities just starting that I’ll attend to next time because he’s run out of time.

Total cost for one filling, xray and cleaning over the course of 1 hour and 15 minutes is $68.

Leon takes me to the Bank of Ecuador where I am told the computer is not available and for me to check back Monday.

We go the Ministry office and I tell them what happened at the bank. Nothing can be done until I’ve received the paperwork from the bank.

Leon takes me to the Elite Tours van place and I’m off to Loja by noon.

About an hour of Cuenca and with my eyes closed, the driver slams on the brakes and we weave to a stop. We’re on a level straight away. The drivers side tie rod has broken. The driver makes some calls. About 20 minutes later another van arrives. It’s the 12:30 pm scheduled run and lucky for us there is exactly enough seats for us all while the driver stays behind with the crippled van.

I sit beside Rorrie from Malacatos, the valley just before Vilcabamba. He’s building a house there. Born in Ireland and living in England. We spend the rest of the trip conversing which makes the drive go by quite quick.

Rorrie shares a cab with me to Ruta De Mayo where he takes off to run some errands.

Within 10 minutes I am riding the front seat Vilcabamba bound.

Back at the meditation center I quickly unpack.

Pat and I walk to Shanta’s where we both order the Filet Mignon. It comes out close to rare with fries and vegetables. A sprinkling of spice makes the meat taste even better. Still nowhere close to Hosteria Vilcabamba.

I meet up with Chaska at the entrance to Waterwoman where she gives me some of Vinaya’s homemade bread. Amalaa passes by on her way to Madre Tierra. Fran shows up. I book a haircut with Fran.

It’s time to hang out at home.

Good nights sleep.

I have a smoothie at what turns out to be a “knockoff” juice bar called “Live Organico”. Good smoothie.

I am interested in eating at “Nectar”. A vegetarian restaurant that only opens from noon until 3 pm. So I wander around.

Nectar Vegetarian Restaurant, Cuenca, Ecuador – Open noon – 3 pm

Leon, the taxi driver who speaks English, arrives at 11:30 am to take me to the Ministry of External Affairs office. I wait about 30 minutes and receive some papers to take to the Central Bank of Ecuador office.

We’re almost there when I realize that I left my passport in the photocopy shop. We drive back and fortunately it’s still there.

Back to the bank. Well the bank won’t be ready to process my document until tomorrow. Good thing because the ministry clerk forgot to give me the CD. We go back to the ministry office and pick up the CD.

The taxi driver and I go to a steak house he recommends. We both order a 1 lb steak which comes with two full sized potatoes. The waiter had recommended the 2 lb steak. The steak is good but got cold before I got finished. I did eat it all but left 1 potato.

I drop off my stuff and walk to a place that’s like a Starbucks called Coffeetree where foreigners congregate.

Coffeetree Cuenca, Ecuador

I go looking for Thomas who is a block away where Carmen the jewelry maker from Vilcabamba is selling her jewelry.

I hang out with Carmen and her two children after Thomas leaves. Carmen is finding it very difficult to be traveling and raising her kids on very little income. We enjoy each others company and I offer some suggestions to stay connected with her son and daughter. We walk a few blocks and I give her son Diego a piggyback ride most of the way. He gives me a hug when we all part ways.

I meet up with Thomas at Eucalyptus restaurant again. I share a dip platter with him and I have a soup. I am back at the hotel by 10 pm.

A nice long sleep to begin my day of travels.

I catch the 10:15 am bus to Loja and get off at the Super Maxi plaza by 11:15 am. I get some money at the bank.

I take a taxi to the Riscomar restaurant recommended by Pat. I order Filet Mignon. The electricity goes off but my meal still comes. The chef cooks by the light from the gas stove. As I am eating, the waiter brings a bowl of cooked black beans and rice which I didn’t order but eat half of anyway. I enjoyed the meal. So far Hosteria Vilcabamba has the best beef.

Riscomar Restaurant

I arrive a half an hour early at Elite Tours for my ride to Cuenca. Since there are only 3 of us going at 1 pm they send us off in a car. Previously it’s always been a mini van. I get to ride in the front seat. We arrive 3 1/2 hours later.

I check into Aqua Hotel. They ask $20 per night but I get it for $15. My room has 2 double beds and is away from the road unlike the last time.

I get a hold of Thomas who moved here from Vilcabamba. On my way to meet up with him for dinner I see a juice bar called Live Organico. For my friends in Toronto, this place has the same logo as the restaurant in Toronto. This is something I am going to check out before I leave.

Live Organico Cuenca, Ecuador

I meet Thomas in the square and we dine at the Eucalyptus Restaurant. I order spicy Indian potatoes, garlic nan bread and marsala with rice. I like it all. Thomas tells me how much he likes Live Organica. We catch on what’s been happening in our lives over the course of 3 1/2 hours.

I wake from 5 hours of sleep. I start thinking about BitCoins.

I check my computer and respond to 2 urgent messages from clients. The main company computer has crashed an was replaced. The owners are flying to Vancouver to be with their new grandchild in the next hour. Can I get the computer restored and everybody back to work?

I set things up so I can control the remote computer. Several hours later business is running again.

I meet with Nadia at the Juice Factory and we go to her place so that I can receive my Lymph drainage treatment combined with various massage techniques. She has a special tool for lymph drainage based on a design over 2000 years old. She “combs” my entire body from the waist up. Nadia also finds all the muscle spots that give me pain and treats these also. To finish off she does Reiki on me. I feel really relaxed.

The treatment was in exchange for a tray of chocolate.

Pat and I head up to Shanta’s but it’s closed. So we jump into a taxi and make our way to Hosteria Vilcabamba (www.hosteriavilcabamba.com)

Dining Room at Hosteria Vilcabamba

It’s Filet Mignon time. Medium rare. Good portion. Comes with vegetables, fries and salad.

Amalaa arrives and we set about making my latest chocolate creation. Jakara who is staying here with her husband Chris also pitches in.

This time dates, dried red bananas and goldenberries go through the meat grinder. In the bowl are two kinds of cacao, tree honey and almond butter. I add the “dough” and kneed it all together. The dough is ready for the cacao paste mixed with coconut oil that’s melted in the double boiler. The gooey “dough” is pressed into three trays and placed in the freezer then frifdge. Voila Sweet & Sour chocolate.

Nadia and George arrive as we’re finishing. Nadia and I do an exchange of chocolate for one of her lymph treatments.

Everyone agrees the batch has turned out well.

I eat steak, mashed potatoes and salad with Will and Jade at Sambucha’s. The meat is chewy.

I spend the evening revamping my friends website. Only 3 pages to go and the internet stops working. Time for bed.

I am feeling healthy.

I arrive at the Juice Factory at 12:45 pm with Pat. Amalaa is there waiting for us. We take a taxi to El Descanso Del Toro and pick up Chaska. We’re off to the new restaurant, La Re-Vuelta Del Che just past San Pedro on the way to Loja. It’s a $2 taxi ride.

The panoramic view is spectacular. I can see Vilcabamba and Mandango from our table.

I love living in a place where windows are optional.

The menu is extensive including some exotic items like stuffed cow brain and udders. The prices are high.

Chaska gets a custom steamed vegetables and a salad with avocado. Pat and I order a medium rare sirloin steak with a salad. I get a side order of green and black olives. Pat gets a side order of guacamole. Amalaa orders a pizza with egg and parsley.

The custom steamed vegetables come with extra vegetables. Pat’s steak is over done while mine is more medium than rare. Amalaa’s pizza looks good. The pizza bottom reminds me of a non greasy Pizza Hut crust.

I enjoy my food.

Back at the Juice Factory I buy some Raw Tree Honey and Almond butter. Tree honey is made by small bees without stinger and has a sweet and sour flavour.

A fresh squeezed orange juice at the Natural Yogurt bar before heading home.

New moon. New beginnings. I dial into the idea and feeling of life is always loving, peaceful and in harmony though my perception differs.

I decide to have my big meal of the day early. One vegetarian pizza at Shanta’s. I take some photos while waiting.

On the way back I get a chance to take a photo of a tree that has been cut. No growth rings.

I dream of waiting in a store to be served. Hours pass. I finally complain. I am ignored. A sales woman comes and sees that I am upset. She assures me that all will be well by giving me kiss. A french kiss. Not quite assured. She repeats the kiss.

No visits to the bathroom overnight. My intestines are settled.

Soup at the Juice Factory. I bring my own bread. Back home I eat goat cheese and bread.

I nap.

A few of us hire a cab to take us to the two rivers in Yamburara to participate in this ceremony:

As we had mentioned, the Peace and Dignity Journeys are a prayer —while walking— of those who, carrying ceremonial staffs and uniting the extremes of this continent, gather every four years inspired by the flight of the condor and the eagle, this time to honor Yakumama.

This walk, which was dreamed and foreseen by our grandparents many, many years ago so that the culture, the understanding, the wisdom of the original peoples of this América could survive, reminds us that we still have the possibility, the tools of communicating with the Spirit world, with luminous father/mother, and thus ensure for ourselves a worthy future in brotherhood, being the sons and daughters of Mother Earth, because like the rain that falls upon all, this prayer shared by all, reaches Tayta dios like raindrops.

This is an invitation for all those of us who drink water, who bathe, and need of her purity, her freedom, so we can make her ours, so she can belong to all. Let‘s get together, all of us from every continent, from every race and every color, to fly together and honor our life, our past, our future—making it worthwhile for everyone to live.

Good nights sleep with only a couple of runs to the washroom.

Debe stops by to say she is ready to sell me her camera. I take her up on the offer.

I venture to the Juice Factory for a smoothie. I bring home tomatoes, bread and basil goat cheese.

I’m running to the bathroom almost every hour. My stomach is a tiny bit queasy. It’s gurgling. An inner purge. Trance-fusion!

I take a nap.

I eat tomatoes, bread and basil goat cheese. I read Gavin’s book.

A rainbow curves half way up into the sky. A  faint double one beside it.

Came across this before going to bed. Found a bunch here http://www.veengle.com/s/alchemicpath.html

I wake up several times during the night. Sipping water. I can feel myself getting healthier each time.

I hook up with Sarah D. at the Juice Factory and we wander around together getting a few things done. We stop by my place to pick up a tray of chocolate and head back into town.

I accept Sarah D.’s invite to check out her new place. Ben rides along with us. The place is a short ways along the river. The taxi climbs a steep driveway that I am told not all of them are willing to do. Sarah D. rents the upper portion of the house. It’s a one bedroom modern place with a spectacular view.

I watch the movie The Yes Men. See http://theyesmen.org/.

I read on the Vilcabamba Boletin that Elyzabeth died this afternoon. People here have been caring for her over the past while.

Long sleep until 9 am.

Some computer work with Katchi (cat) sleeping on the chair beside me.

Chaska calls and invites me over to her new space at Del Toro.

On the way I get a big hug from Sarah D. who I bump into at the taxi stand.

Chaska and I enjoy a snack, the sunset and conversation facing Mandango.

Back home by 9:30 pm

My bones are achy, chills and my intestines are growling.

I awake from a long nights sleep with only one brief interruption. I here Debe talking Pat.

I emerge from my room. Debe stayed at the meditation center last night.

Debe and I make a batch of chocolate from dates, cacao paste, maca, coconut oil, tahini,  honey and two other types of cacao.

Nap after lunch.

Chat with Sian over Skype.

Finishing touches to the revitalized website for Celeste.

Cloudy night so no shooting stars.
